Who is Grandma Edna???

She's our Grandma/Great-Grandma Edna Paulus,
one of the best bakers and cooks on Chicago's South Side. We'd
think we were just a little prejudiced if people in the administration
building at the University of Chicago, where she worked didn't start
sweet talking her in July, just to make sure that they got a tin of her
sought after Christmas cookies. Or the fact that Chicago's
premiere department store Marshall Fields once asked Grandma to quit her
day job and bake for them, or shall we say begged?
But we'll leave that decision up to
you. Here are some of Grandma's and her neighborhood friend's
absolute best dessert recipes. The kind of good old-fashioned
cookies, cakes and brownies that Grandma used to make -- literally.
